Join Staten Island Arts as we kick off our Cinema Connex Film Series at the historic St. George Theatre with a FREE screening of “Working Girl,” the much-loved tale of a Staten Islander with big ambitions. This community event celebrates the 30th anniversary since Staten Islander Tess McGill stole audience members’ hearts as she strode down the ferry ramp and into the ranks of buttoned-up business life in Manhattan.

Cinema Connex is a new independent film series created by Staten Island Arts to provide local residents with free access to contemporary independent film and unique “insider access” experiences that enhance understanding and appreciation of the films screened. January through June 2019. * “Working Girl” kickoff features this classic Staten Island movie. Cinema Connex’s core lineup features indie films.
This program is made possible, in part, by support with public funds from the New York City Department of Small Business Services through its Neighborhood 360 program, created to identify, develop and launch commercial revitalization projects in partnership with local stakeholders; the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with City Council; the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
