Supplies needed.
Students will learn :
-safety in bringing wax to a molten state heated at 180 degrees where they can then apply a base layer to a wooden board/paper/tile that has been either heated with a blow torch or a heat gun except for paper that we use the heat gun.
- how to use a heat gun and the safety of using a heat gun as well as a blow torch. How to assemble a blow torch and start it as well as how to hold it to heat the board first prior to wax being applied and then to blend the wax with the blow torch to fuse the wax and blend the colors.
- how to take a photograph flip it and transfer it onto a board, burnish the image and then peel the remaining surface off exposing the image in the wax which can then be embellished with hot wax.
- various mediums that can be added to the wax to either make the wax stronger, have texture and or how to adhere objects to the wax securely.
-to buff the wax to add luster to its surface.
