Sleepy Droner Club is a monthly exhibition focusing on ambient/electronic music. Each performance is intended to engage observers with compelling soundscapes accompanied by projected visuals, creating a listening space unlike anything available anywhere else on Staten Island. This month’s installment highlights DngrHndz, Sludgemisers and the visual art of Rachel Lyngholm.
DngrHndz is the electronic musical journey of David Cho. Displaying a brilliant proficiency of various hardware, DngrHndz features beautiful soundscapes for the ear to play in. Combining modular synthesis, drum machine and first class digital synthesis, the sounds of DngrHndz tenderly invites the listener to embark on a sonic voyage, as well.

Sludgemisers is the noise collaboration of percussionist Nick Guttilla and guitarist Jenno Snyder. Their semi-improvisational compositions translate raw emotion into baths of noise and cascading eerie soundscapes, feeding off each other's energy. They layer electronic and acoustic rhythms that derive their power from the unmistakable primal pulse of the modern human condition.

Rachel Lyngholm (she/her) is an intermedia artist and designer from Staten Island, NY. Her audiovisual compositions draw work from internet archives, collaging found footage from the 1950s onward with her music or foley experiments. Her videos often attempt to exploit the horror in vintage Americana’s view of women and people who identify as femme. Currently, she designs and markets for both the Brooklyn-based experimental arts space, Roulette Intermedium, and the Staten Island-based art and literary press, NYSAI. She has a BA in Interactive Multimedia from The College of New Jersey.
As always your host AJ Pantaleo and Rory Merola will be on hand.
